๐๐ Queen's Defense II
June 6, 2026 | The Fort Disc Golf Course
๐Twenty women. One very windy day. One very challenging course.
The second stop of the 2026 Salty Queens series brought 20 competitors to The Fort for Queen's Defense II, Presented by Innova Discs and Another Round Salt Lake City and sponsored by Distracted.
With windy conditions, tight wooded fairways, and two challenging layouts, we were tested from the first tee to the final putt. Competitors were split into A Pool (FPO, FA1, FA40) and B Pool (FA50, FA2, FA3, FA4), allowing each division to compete on a layout tailored to their field.
While scores were hard-earned throughout the day, the competition, camaraderie, and community support made Queen's Defense II another memorable stop on the Salty Queens tour.

๐ Salty Queens Style
The player pack item for Queen's Defense II was an instant favorite.
Players received custom Salty Queens jerseys, and several competitors couldn't wait until after the event to put them on. More than one player immediately changed shirts and spent the rest of the day proudly sporting their new gear.
As a tournament director, there may be no better sign that a player pack item was a success.
๐Way to go Patrick!

๐ Pizza, Caddying, and Community
One of the highlights of the day came courtesy of community member William "Billy" Bauer.
Billy spent most of his morning caddying for one of our ladies, offering encouragement, carrying a bag, and bringing lots of joy to the entire card. It was just my luck to also be on the same card! After 15 holes, he headed off to start preparing lunch for the field.
By the time we finished our round, fresh sourdough pizzas were coming out of the oven and quickly disappearing. The response was overwhelming, with the pizzas selling out before everyone had a chance to grab a slice. (It was soooooo tasty!!!! )
Thank you, Billy, for supporting the women of Salty Queens both on and off the course. From caddying during the round to feeding hungry competitors afterward, your contribution helped make Queen's Defense II a memorable experience for everyone involved. You truly are an amazing human.๐๐ #bauersauerdough
๐ A Familiar Face Returns
One of my favorite moments from Queen's Defense II came from a familiar face.
Leleo Spencer (#58084) recently registered for the 2026 United States Women's Disc Golf Championship and decided to shake off the rust by joining us at The Fort.
The last time Leleo and I played together was at the 2016 Disc Chic Challengeโnearly ten years ago.
Not only did she return to sanctioned competition, she captured the FA40 division title with a nine-stroke victory. After the event, she shared a group photo from that 2016 tournament, a reminder of how long these friendships and connections can last through disc golf.
Moments like these are one of my favorite parts of the women's disc golf community.

๐ธ Thank You, Claire!
A special thank you goes to Claire, a new player to our Roots Ladies Night League, who wasn't able to compete but still chose to spend the day supporting the event.
Claire caddied, helped take photos, and spent the afternoon getting to know players throughout the field. Having someone willing to show up, help out, and become part of the communityโeven when they aren't playingโis exactly the kind of spirit that helps women's disc golf continue to grow.
Thank you, Claire! ๐
๐ Series Watch
With two Salty Queens events now complete, some exciting battles are beginning to emerge in the season standings.
The FA40 division is currently shaping up to be one of the closest races in the series:
๐ฅ Molly Lay โ 271.67
๐ฅ Heather Leapaldt โ 268.33
๐ฅ Loretta Burns โ 265.00
With less than seven points separating the top three competitors, every finish matters as we head into the second half of the season.
๐๐Next Up: USWDGC
The next stop in the Salty Queens season isn't just another tournamentโit's the 2026 United States Women's Disc Golf Championship.
USWDGC will bring hundreds of women from across the country to Utah to compete on some of the state's premier courses. Each Salty Queens series competitor will receive 150 points for competing in and completing the event.
Registration for this event has officially closed, but there are still opportunities to be part of the event.
