🐝 Queen of the Hive VIII
Women’s Global Event + Salty Queens #1 💛
The 2026 Crew. 💕
This weekend we (Patrick & his amazing team) hosted the 8th edition of Queen of the Hive — Utah’s contribution to the PDGA Women’s Global Event — and honestly… my heart is so full after this one.
Every year this event reminds me why women’s disc golf matters so much to me.
Not just the competition.
Not just the scores.
The community.
The support.
The way women continue to show up for each other over and over again.
And this year especially… that feeling was everywhere.
🌎 What is the Women’s Global Event?
If you’re new here… the PDGA Women’s Global Event (WGE) is a worldwide celebration of women in disc golf 💛
Women all across the globe compete in local events during the same weekend, while also being connected through one giant international event and global leaderboard.
It’s one of the coolest weekends in disc golf because it reminds us that even while we’re playing locally here in Utah… we’re part of something MUCH bigger 🐝🌎
Queen of the Hive VIII also served as the kickoff event for the 2026 Salty Queens Series 💛
Smiling after finishing round 1! Charlotte, Noël, & Kati.
🎁 Player Packs & Community Support
One of my favorite parts of women’s only events…. the player pack 💛
Our AM players received:
🐝 A women’s hat with a ponytail opening.. LOVE
🐝 An event stamped disc… even lightweight!
🐝 LMNT Hydration Powder, and Tasty TOO!
🐝 A WGE bag pin…It’s kinda cool to be a part of something so big!!!
🐝 and The CUTEST Team Thunder Puss bee sticker !!!! ( I love my TTP stickers, they’re always sooo adorable!)
And this year, even the pros received the WGE pin, Team Thunder Puss sticker, and LMNT hydration packs too ✨💕
None of this happens without community support.
Huge thank you to:
…for continuing to support women’s disc golf and helping make events like this possible 💛
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
Charlotte, Tawna & Ben @ Another Round watch Party.
When the community gives, it creates ripples 💛
Because our Ladies Night tags were donated this season (thanks again Guppy 🥏✨), She Throws SLC had extra funds available to help support women at the start of their season.
We were able to give away an entry into Queen of the Hive VIII last week at ladies night, to Brittney Armentrout — who went on to take 2nd place in FPO this weekend 🔥
We had also planned to do a CTP giveaway for a PDGA membership during the event. But when we realized there were only two players without active memberships…
…we decided to skip the CTP and simply give memberships to both:
💛 Kelsie Axtell #328573
💛 McKenna Park #328571
Welcome to the PDGA ladies. 😘
That’s the kind of thing community support makes possible.
Small acts of support turn into opportunities, confidence, and more women getting out to play 🐝✨
🌎 Utah Showing Up on the Global Stage
One of the coolest parts of the Women’s Global Event is getting to see local players stack up against women from all over the world.
And Team Utah absolutely had some things to celebrate 💛
✨ Katie Tews currently sits 35th out of 178 players in FPO
✨ Charlotte Christensen is currently 15th out of 61 competitors in FP40
✨ Hannah Dooley landed 21st out of 186 in FA1
Seeing Utah women represented across global leaderboards is such a cool reminder that the women in our local community are out here doing amazing things 🐝✨
But the coolest part?
These standings are still changing.
There are additional Women’s Global Event weekends happening next week, meaning players around the world still have more opportunities to compete and shift the rankings. Players can even compete during BOTH weekends and appear in the rankings twice 👀

🏆Congratulations to all our Podium Finishers
PSSSSSS… getting to use my Luv Dubs podium boxes for awards photos with the mountains in the background. My heart 😭💛
✨ One of My Favorite Moments
One of the coolest unexpected moments from the weekend was meeting Loretta Burns, who runs a women’s glow league:
👉 Island Views Glow Crew Ladies Night
She mentioned being nervous to share information about her league because it also takes place on Tuesdays. But honestly?
That made me even MORE excited. The more women’s leagues we have, the better. Period. There is room for all of us to grow.
I’m incredibly excited to add her league to the She Throws SLC calendar and continue helping connect women to more opportunities to play 💛
Loretta,
Thank you for sharing your love for the game with other women!
Ladies,
Go try this league if you’re free and like playing glow disc golf with other super cool ladies!!! 💕
💕 Thank You
Thank you to every woman who came out to compete.
Thank you to every caddy who came out to support their player
1000 Rated Caddies: Alex Covey #68513 & Jacob Beach #155469
Thank you to every sponsor, donor, volunteer, supporter, and friend who continues to help build women’s disc golf in Utah.
Queen of the Hive VIII was something special 🐝✨
I Can’t wait to see you all at the next event… Registration is open and already has 2 people signed up.
Who’s gonna come play with Charlotte and I?
We even love to throw to the same places. #bestielife
Love you all!!
See you out on the course 🥏✨
